Seeking funds to provide life-saving dental surgery - put the smile back on the dial of Goliath & give him the happy-ever after he deserves.
Christchurch, Canterbury
Goliath is the face of failure – Human failure. Like thousands of others, he was never neutered, left to stray and scavenge to survive. He is more than ready to give up the thug life & hand in his stray card. Despite his hard-knock life, he is a gentle giant, and he is grateful to now be safe and warm. He has discovered the joy of a heat pad, is happy to eat his antibiotic pills off my hand and play with his toy mousie. His problems are far from over however. He is effectively on death row. He desperately needs dental work if he is to have any quality of life. This has been estimated to cost in excess of $2k. He has pain relief and antibiotics for two weeks but, without surgery, his outlook is bleak.
Who am I? For years, I’ve been quietly chipping away rescuing, rehabbing, and rehoming 3 or 4 cats per year. I don’t go looking for them, but somehow, they find me. I’m self-funded, I don’t own my own home, I’m not rich, but I do what I can with what resources I have. Sometimes though, the need is more than I can supply. Goliath is one of those special cases whose need is greater than my resources alone can resolve. He needs you, the village …
Goli deserves to spend his senior years in love and comfort. Any surplus funds will be used to support Goli's aftercare, reimbursement to Cat Rescue Christchurch & enable future rescues. Please give what you can and/or share to friends.
Dental surgery for a cat to restore his quality of life & give him a chance of a pain free, loved domestic life. Goliath has had a tough life on the streets & deserves to live. He wants to live. This surgery is his only hope.

How cute is Goli now?
He's safe, pain free, happy & healthy with beautiful clean, plush fur, all thanks to your donations and support.
He is still mostly an outside cat but sometimes he will tolerate me bringing him inside for a little social time. He loves being brushed & enjoys the attention but as soon as I get on with chores, he takes himself back outside. (Although he does struggle to squeeze through the internal cat door which is quite amusing to watch - think Garfield 🤣). So far, he hasn't voluntarily come inside but time & patience might get him there.
My cats are still in the phase of avoid & ignore There hasn't been any overt agression - positive sign. Goli just wants to eat, sleep & snuggle.
