West Coast

Hi all, this is hard to do, for so many reasons, mainly accepting the loss of my handsome baby. I rescued him from neglect and abandonment, he became a part of me and my life so easily it was fate I think! Latte was filled with attitude, entitlement, love and protection, but he did have some health concerns, a while later he suffered a blocked urinary tract, which ended with emergency vet visit and surgery costing just under 1000$, and i made the nessacery changes to lifestyle/diet. Unfortunately the blockage came back a couple months later, another ER vet visit and surgery, costing around 850$ this time, except when came home he wasnt good, he was in pain, sad, isolating himself, leaking constantly, not eating, he was just a shell. The surgery failed, he blocked up straight away, in less than 48hrs, i notice quickly due to being on high alert from reoccurance. The vet gave me two options, the same procedure again (causing more trauma to his body and head, and causing more pain) or euthanasia. And after two surgeries an doing all I could lifestyle wise, I didnt want to cause him more discomfort and pain, and lose quality of life, with risk of return. This was the hardest decision I have had to make, he was part of my soul. My previous furs were cremated, due to renting, so I to have him home with me, will be around 600$, I am paying small sum weekly to vet,(he is there on ice until payed fully), the 600 incl euthanasia, cremation, urn and basic engraving. He deserves the best.

Use of funds

Cremation cost, basic wooden urn cost, simple engraving cost, vet/medical bill(euthansia) cost.

Update  2 April 2026

Hi all I will upload a photo of remaining vet bill, I am making weekly 35$ payments. But I would love to not have my boy in the vets freezer, so the sooner I can pay it off the better, I am also happy for anyone to call the Hokitika vet and confirm the cost, as long as I make progress into Latte coming home with the rest of his family. I am also trying to sell things on FB for money towards this, I am unfortunately only on a medical benefit and cannot find any work, and have no close friends or family able to pay this bill off as they helped with the nearly 2000$ worth of surgery bills for him. Anything helps even a share of the page, he and I appreciate the time and love.

* all the choices of urn/engraving were the cheapest wood/engraving options available (apart from cardboard and no engraving obviously) and the place doing it is called Loyal love Pet cremation based on the westcoast, she is the same lady who cremated my previous furs who passed and I wouldn't want anyone else to do it, she's amazing* he deserves the best, this is just all I can do right now. Thankyou for your time and love.
