Help the Tyler Family with their fight for Dani

Waikato

5 Years ago our beautiful Dani Girl was diagnosed with a Wilms Tumour on her right kidney. She underwent surgery to remove the kidney and after extensive chemotherapy she appeared to be cured and got to enjoy a few years of normality.

On Wednesday 12th October 2016 Dani's world was turned upside down yet again, this time her left kidney is showing a Wilms Tumour.

Dani is going to be staying up at Starship Hospital for the next few months as she commences chemotherapy/radiation to try and shrink the Tumour in order to be able save part of her remaining kidney.

Best case scenario - The Tumour will shrink therefore she will get to keep most of her kidney and will go into remission.

Not so good scenario - They will need to remove her remaining kidney and she will be put on dialysis until they can find a match for a new kidney.

Dani and her family are ready for the fight to begin.

This is wear we come in.... This is going to be a long and emotional journey for the family as well as the financial implications this will leave with loss of income and endless trips to and from Starship Hospital.

Lets all pull together to help this amazing family with their fight for Dani.

Dani's Journey update – This week has the Tyler family back up at Starship Hospital so Dani can have her CT scan and another round of intense Chemotherapy, the tests are still showing the tumour shrinking like we all hoped.

They met with the specialist today, who spoke about their concerns with regards to where the tumour is placed (right in the middle of Dani's renal function) this is going to make for a difficult operation to try and remove what's left of the tumour. The specialist has said that it is very unlikely the tumour will disappear altogether.

At this stage there is no talk on a date for the operation but will continue with the treatment plan that Dani has been on & just hope & pray that this thing shrinks a lot more.

There was also talk about further blood testing on Dani (this takes about 3mths as her bloods are sent overseas) to determine the generics of why this is happening to her more than once. The results from those tests will determine the testing for Tegan.

Dani is still very conscious of her body changes which will be ongoing battle for a while yet, but with the help of True Colours hopefully they will help ease Dani’s concerns.

Thanks Again for all your continued Support
