Deo Bale - Uganda mugging victim
Let's help with hospital costs and school fees.
Deo was our tour guide in 2013 and 2018. He's a gem - utterly honest, hardworking and reliable.
On 11 March 2019 he was mugged in Kampala and is now in hospital with a fractured skull and therefore no job prospects. The potentially means no more education for his two teenage kids - Michel and Elizabeth, and destitution for the whole family.
Deo has been successfully operated on and can now speak a bit. But even if he fully recovers, it will be months before he can drive and therefore earn a living.
Use of funds
1. The Operation needs paying for.
2. Michel is in his last year of secondary education, while Elizabeth is in her 2nd. Their mother has no real income. Everything we can send will be valued.
Funds will be sent via MoneyGram to Deo once he is he's well enough to get around.
Thanks heaps. This is a significant addition to our funding and will pay for his daughter's school fees for a semester while he is unemployed and recovering.
Thank you, thank you. I'll make sure your message gets through to Deo.
Thanks... I really, really appreciate this and I know deo's family will too.
Thanks so much. I'm expecting to see the hospital bill very soon and I think your donation should enable us to clear it. That will be a big relief for the family.
