Disability carousel for the Lions Playground at Tahunanui
Assistance with the purchase of a an accessibility carousel for the children of Nelson at the Tahunanui Lions playground.

We would very much like your assistance to purchase an accessibility carousel for the Tahunanui Lions Playground that can be accessed and used by children in wheelchairs. The photo shows the one in Blenheim, which has proven to be a great asset there.
Our Club carries out many fund-raising projects and this year have donated to Camp Quality, assisted with the costs of the Youth Diabetes Annual Camp, contributed $5000 to the purchase of 2 immersion suits for the Nelson/Marlborough Helicopter Trust, contributed $1500 to the new Wellington Children's Hospital Playscape, among other donations.
About us
We have been operating in Nelson for the last 59 years and our purpose is to assist our Community by raising funds to distribute to those in need. The Lions Playground in Tahunanui was built by our Club and this project will be a much needed addition.
Use of funds
The purchase of a disability carousel. Any surplus will be used by our Charitable Trust to assist the youth of Nelson.

The carousel installation is now nearing completion and we are really looking forward to seeing it being used 🥳. We sincerely thank each and every one of you for your very generous support of this great project and hope that it will bring lots of enjoyment to our young ones. We are now working on getting roll out matting to allow wheelchair and mobility scooters access to the beach. Thank you.
