Eche battles daily with special needs & diagnosed on the 18/02/23 with cancer on his spine with only a 5% chance of survival
Grafton, Auckland
Less than 48 hours ago our world turned upside down when we found out my 15year old has aggressive Ewing Sarcoma in his spine which is inoperable due to it attaching it self to his all the nerves in his lower spine. He’s currently got no feeling in his right side from the waist down but is still fighting…because it’s growing so fast and in his spine chemo started immediately and he finished his first lot of treatment today Alhamdulillah…we are currently in starship in the haematology oncology ward and doctors said he would be here for at least next year if God allows it while he fights the biggest fight of his life because of the chemo it’s not only trying to kill the cancer it’s attacking his heart, bones, liver and his immune system.
It’s all happened so fast I have had to quit my job give up my house and leave the rest of my kids behind so I could walk with Eche as far as God will allow me. I know times are hard for everyone and I’m great full for anyone who can and has helped wether it be through prayers, donations, phone calls, research, helping with my other babies (big, small and furry) or sending us your energy and thoughts. If you can’t donate it’s Kei te pai but we would appreciate it if you can please all share this to any and all platforms you can… but most of all please keep him in your prayers, vibration and thoughts we appreciate it all.
Mother of Eche
The money donated will all go towards the care and medications (PEG GCSF Injections) and other costs being away from home that Eche needs during this time of need with this unexpected illness.
Updated on 21/12/23: All funds received will now be prioritised on pain meds as well as the meal replacement drinks that are not subsidised. Any extras will go towards Eche to enjoy the days that he has left here with us.
UPDATE 20 December 2023
On the 15th of December 2023 doctors sat us down to inform us that Eches cancer had spread and is growing quickly. Then followed our worst nightmare in one word “incurable”
We were on ward on the 28/11/23 for an MRI which came back with good news…the tumour had not grown past the 6cm from scans done in September 2023 and that there had been no newly developed cancer … fast forward a little to the 12th of December where we noticed a small lump on Eche’s back which was close to the last protruding tumour but closer to the centre of his spine than the last. We had a repeat MRI on ward on the 14/12/23 which showed a tumour growing on his tail bone area which was growing rapidly. Drs have estimated it is growing at least a cms per week and could pick up the pace or worse keep spreading. With chemo out of the question by Eches choice and the Drs suggestion our boy will received one round of radiation on to try and relieve his pain and the pressure on his nerves to hopefully help keep mobility and quality of life going for a little longer.
Radiation is due on Thursday and then we are hoping to take him home on Friday.
