EGGS Rowing Club - Ergathon Fundraiser 2024!
The Epsom Girls Grammar Rowing Club has a strong and proud rowing history. We aim to be one of the best girls' school rowing clubs in NZ!

Hi family, friends and supporters!
On Saturday 28 September 2024 our rowing squad is kicking off our fundraising activities for the 2024/25 season with an Ergathon. We will each row the length of Lake Karapiro (our regular regatta race venue) on rowing machines - ‘ergs’. The distance is 11km, which may not sound far, but our normal race distance is 2km, so 11km is going to be a push for us, especially this early in our season!
The Ergathon is being held from 10am - 1pm at Greenwoods Corner in Epsom, as part of the Greenwoods Corner Epsom Spring Festival. You are welcome to come along and see us in action, and give us a big cheer!
We, like other sports, have increased and ongoing operating and maintenance costs, and the money will be put towards these expenses. Our fundraising target this year is $50,000+ so you can see we have quite a challenge ahead of us.
Each rower is hoping to raise a minimum of $150, with a $50 voucher going to the individual who raises the most. We are asking you to sponsor us for this 11km challenge, with any amount you choose to support with. Thank you for considering us.
About us
The Epsom Girls Grammar Rowing Club has a strong and proud rowing history. We have the rowing and coaching talent but rowing is an expensive sport and we rely on fundraising to keep us going and evolving into the champions we aim to be.
Use of funds
Boat maintenance and ongoing operating costs.
Anything above our initial $5k goal will go towards the purchase of a new coach boat.

The ergathon was a great success and we thank you all so much for your donations.
As our givealittle page is active until the end of October and we have gone past our original goal amount, we are now able to aim for our stretch goal of $15k.
We are fundraising to purchase a new coach boat - something that we urgently need and will make our Head Coach very happy!
