Great Potential Foundation's Family Service Centres are community hubs providing integrated health, education and social services in the high deprivation communities of Papakura and Takanini

These well-established Family Service Centres support two communities who are categorised as Decile 10 by the NZ Deprivation Index, the highest level of socioeconomic deprivation in New Zealand.

The Centres offer wrap-around services to the most vulnerable in our communities. We are integrated in our communities, trusted and utilised, and able to assist our families to improve their home, health, work and financial situations. We know that our programmes and services literally change lives.

Services that our Family Service Centres provide include:

• Counselling

• Social work

• Social Workers in Schools

• School and holiday programmes

• Seasons for Growth (grief and loss programme for young people)

• Parenting programmes (Triple P and Effective Parenting)

• Budgeting

• HIPPY (Home Interaction Programme for Parents and Youngsters)

• Early Childhood Education

• Playgroups

• Adult literacy

• Legal seminars

Great Potentials Foundation is a registered Charitable Trust which works in low-income communities providing education and support at key points of transition.

Our programmes are delivered to help unleash the potential of children, young people and families to promote family functioning, relieve suffering, release potential, reduce disparities in New Zealand society, reduce crime and violence and break the cycle of disadvantage.

Our vision is well-nurtured children and young people within well-functioning families, contributing to safe communities and a prosperous nation.

About us

Great Potentials Foundation is a charitable trust for the promotion of education and parental support. We are in communities that need help to unleash the potential of their children and young people at key transition points in their lives.

Use of funds

Funds raised enable Great Potentials to continue to deliver these essential services to the poorest of our communities in the high-needs areas of South Auckland.

With limited government funding, and sharply increasing needs and requests for assistance from families, we urgently need to raise funds to enable Great Potentials to continue working with those who most need us.
