Nationwide

Family Service Centres

When we say 35,000 families have been supported, that number is really about people like Leah. When she first came to us, she was carrying a heavy load, trying to find stability for her whānau. She found more than practical help – she found people who listened, walked alongside her, and believed in her. Leah often says it wasn’t just the services but the relationships: someone to encourage her and say, “You can do this, and you don’t have to do it alone.” With that support, Leah built the confidence to take charge of her family’s future. Today, she is resilient, connected, and hopeful.

HIPPY

Through HIPPY, over 60,000 children have been taught by the best teachers – their parents. Kelly became a mum at 18 and never imagined she’d be a teacher or mentor. With guidance from HIPPY Coordinator Louise, she started tutoring her children, gained confidence, and became a Teacher Aide and community leader. Kelly says, “HIPPY showed me my talent for helping people, and now I know I can do anything.”

MATES

MATES has supported thousands of young people. Hadleigh, once shy and withdrawn, was mentored by Tamati Coffey. That support helped him gain confidence, reconnect with his dad, and pursue dance. Today, he mentors young people across Auckland, showing how one mentor can change a life.

Transition – the point at which a parent, child, or young person realises their potential is a recurring theme in these stories. Your support contributes to these life-altering events.

About us
