Fathers last chance in his Stage 4 Melanoma Journey / With heavy heart ๐ our hope is gone ๐ข

This message is starting with the word 'Offering Hope'.
ipilimumab รฎs Jason only hope left to reduce his tumours which have returned and allow him to live as comfortably as he can. ipilimumab is $20,000 per month.
My brother Jason has been battling Stage 4 Melanoma since Jan 2023. Jason has been lucky enough to have the opportunity from all of you kind people to be on a non funded drug called Braftovi & Mektovi. Sadly these drugs have stopped working and the only chance left is another non funded drug called ipilimumab taken in conjunction with KEYTRUDA.
In this story as a support network and a sister in law, its about advocating for cancer drugs to be funded in the NZ health system so all can have the best chance and comfort towards the end of their painful journey.
The studies and research regarding ipilimumab and KEYTRUDA taken together can give up-to 2 more 'quality' years of life, which my brother and his family certainly deserve and why I am back here telling his story in hope that I can support his last chance to reduce his new cancer growths and assist with his pain.
****Please see our previous page for Jason https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/cancer-hits-young-family-twice-father-and-son****
I am Jasons sister in law of 26 years. I am creating this page to offer hope and love to my sister Kylie (Jasons partner) and my beautiful 3 nephews and to support my whole family
Updated on 02/10 - To help the family financially with the final journey for Jason and take the worry and stress off everyday costs and expenses while Kylie & the boys navigate through their next chapter.

Heaviest of ๐ hearts 17 January 2025
On 7th January 2025 Jason lost his battle with the dreaded Melanoma that took over his body, but never his soul. He amazed us all in his continued strength & resilience throughout his whole journey. He was a true fighter who never gave up but unfortunately his body took its toll. The family want to thank each and everyone of you who have cared and given to us. Jason wouldnโt have had the extra 20 months without you guys with your generousity & prayers. We are all hurting deeply as the scar is raw, and it is cruel for a parent to pass so young (aged 44) with young children who need their dad. The extended family will keep his memory alive especially for the kids, especially Eddie who is only 3. Jason loved us and we loved him. He is now at peace and I am sure looks over his loved ones. Eternal Love Jason xox โฅ๏ธ Fly high โฅ๏ธ
