Fathers last chance in his Stage 4 Melanoma Journey / With heavy heart 💔 our hope is gone 😢

Havelock North, Hawke's Bay

This message is starting with the word 'Offering Hope'.

ipilimumab îs Jason only hope left to reduce his tumours which have returned and allow him to live as comfortably as he can. ipilimumab is $20,000 per month.

My brother Jason has been battling Stage 4 Melanoma since Jan 2023. Jason has been lucky enough to have the opportunity from all of you kind people to be on a non funded drug called Braftovi & Mektovi. Sadly these drugs have stopped working and the only chance left is another non funded drug called ipilimumab taken in conjunction with KEYTRUDA.

In this story as a support network and a sister in law, its about advocating for cancer drugs to be funded in the NZ health system so all can have the best chance and comfort towards the end of their painful journey.

The studies and research regarding ipilimumab and KEYTRUDA taken together can give up-to 2 more 'quality' years of life, which my brother and his family certainly deserve and why I am back here telling his story in hope that I can support his last chance to reduce his new cancer growths and assist with his pain.

Making memories   16 November 2024

Just a short note to let you all know the family is trying to make the most of their time, day by day. It is limited obviously due to the decline of what Jason is able to do - but he enjoy rides in the car and getting out of the house. Couple of weekends ago Jason & family managed to enjoy a couple of nights at a beach Bach, although Jason is not up to walking on the beach - he enjoyed looking out to the sea and the beautiful sunsets 🌅 Jason & family also managed to meet the families latest edition Maddison who was 6 weeks old. The most cherished times are those spent with family and loved ones. It’s all these little things that mean the most. Thank you all again for caring and being part of Jason’s story. Always remember ~ Time is precious - waste it wisely!
