Help support Fergus and his family as he has been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer
Southland
Our beloved friend Fergus, Ferg Hosie has been diagnosed with melanoma which has now unfortunately spread to his liver (terminal/stage 4 cancer) and been given weeks/months to live.
For those who know Ferg he has positively impacted so many people over the years with his humour, kindness and love of having a laugh or just bonding over his love for music.
Update:
The funds raised will now go to supporting Ferg during his palliative care at home with family.
We are fundraising to help financially support Ferg through treatment (Ipilimumab - not government funded) and to support Delwyn, and his much loved boys Campbell and Aiden so they can enjoy what time they have left together and not stress about how they can fund treatment.
Every dollar helps when they are potentially facing up to $40k per month specialist treatment to prolong Ferg’s life. If Ferg has made an impact on your life and you are able to help (even just a little) please donate now.
This page has been created by Chris & Linda Baxendine, close friends of the Hosie family. We are creating this page on behalf of Fergus (with his permission) and the funds will be paid into the verified bank account of Delwyn (Ferg’s wife).
The money would go to funding medication/treatment that is not government funded; any travel required for specialist appointments, scans and treatments.
Palliative care at home 31 October 2022
It seems amazing that Ferg is still with us. After a diagnosis of terminal liver cancer his specialist Chris Jackson gave Ferg 4 to 6 weeks, as his liver is so full of tumours. This was at the end of July. He is now in week 14.
To have him still with us is a blessing Campbell, Aiden and I are truly thankful for all the kind donations that have given us the opportunity to be with Ferg and care for him at home.
I have been able to not work and devote as much time to looking after Ferg. He is such a battler....hitting it head on with his positive attitude and humour.
