9 year old Finlay can no longer access his local beach with his family. He needs a special all-terrain wheelchair.
Nationwide
Finlay has severe Cerebral Palsy. He has a Mum, Dad, a young sister and brother. He loves walks in his wheelchair and swimming in the sea and local swimming pool. He lives near some beautiful beaches which he can no longer access in his present wheelchair. His family often have to plan bike rides, beach visits and bush walks without him. They only have one weekend in a month where they can enjoy their outdoor pursuits. Poor Finlay has to go to Respite during this time. This creates a lot of guilt for the family as they know how much Finlay enjoys the outdoors.
His family want to involve him more but to do this Finlay needs an All Terrain wheelchair. The www.hippocampe.co.uk is a wheelchair that will allow Finlay to access the beach, bush walks, local swimming pools, the sea and even the snow!!!
His grandparents live in Central Otago and have accommodation on the Rail Trail. Kim (Finlay's Mum) dreams of also getting a specialised bike trailer to take him along too.
Kim and Finlay would then like to participate in lots of fundraising events together.

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to let you know that I've opened up a Facebook page for Finlay. This is something we'd love you to 'like' so we can keep you 'in the loop' regarding the process and finally the incredible moments he'll have once he receives it.
Kim
Thank you so much! This will certainly help with our travels down South at Easter. We have to attach a roof-rack and basket to our family car (not cheap). This is because we have a hoist for Finlay and his wheelchair which takes up all our available space. We want to travel together and it will be the first time we've ever tried the drive down. Finlay hasn't been to the South Island since he was a tot. Anyway, with all his extra equipment needed for him, the wonderful Hippocampe plus the usual family belongings a roof rack is essential. We can't install a tow-bar because the hoist connections are in the way! Your kind donation will help tremendously - thank you so much! Kim (Finlay's Mum)
