Floyd has cancer and requires major surgery and chemotherapy.
Wellington
Floyd is a six year old Golden Retriever dog who lives with his family in Lower Hutt. If your children go to a school, kindy or holiday programme in the Hutt Valley they may know Floyd. He is a Canine Friends Pet Therapy dog and the dog used to assist Hutt City Council animal control officers present the Safety Around Dogs programme. He loves all the pats and cuddles he gets from the children and is a valuable addition to the presentation of this very important message. But... Floyd has recently been diagnosed with a type of cancer that has required two major surgeries. For our darling boy to recover and continue his good work he now needs a 13 week course of chemotherapy. He is still a young dog and much loved by all who get to meet him. Please help save Floyd

A final thank you from Floyd The School Dog 8 August 2018
In two days time this give a little page comes to an end. I can't express how grateful we are to all who have contributed. God bless you all. Floyd is doing really well, back to his happy tail wagging self. It was his seventh birthday on 1st August and at the beginning of this year we thought perhaps he might not make it until then. The amazing vets and staff at Pet Vet Lower Hutt have given Floyd the chance at living a long and healthy life. And you, his supporters, have helped us to pay the vets for their work. Floyd continues to visit schools and libraries in Lower Hutt, bringing the dog safety message to the children. Hopefully for many years to come. Thank you all. Perhaps one day we will meet on Petone beach or at the Hutt River. xxx
