For the love and sanity of my sister

I would like to help ease the anxiety my sister is living with daily.

Feilding, Manawatu-Wanganui

My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2023. My Mum passed away on the 13th May from her battle with lung and bone cancer. We were all caring for my Mum, so my sister wasn't able to think about her own health issues. My sister's surgery was 5 days after Mums funeral. Last year was a very difficult time for all the family.

So far, she has had a mastectomy, and on anti-cancer drugs (with lots of awful side effects). She desperately wants to have a full body PET-CT scan, but the public health system feels there is no need.

Despite having a micro-metastasis in a lymph node and one breast removed, she has only every had a mammogram and ultrasound for the biopsy.

It is no fun living your life wondering if cancer is lurking undetected. It ultimately messes with your head. She lives every day in the fear of it, when and where it will present again.

I would like to help take away some of this anxiety by being able to raise the funds for a PET-CT scan. If you are able to donate any amount, it would be greatly appreciated.

Results in from PET-CT Scan  8 May 2024

Sonia had her Scan last week and we now have the results.

Thank God she has no sign of Metastatic cancer anywhere else in her body. But it did pick up that she has an ovarian adnexal mass of 2.10cm. This will need to be monitored by ultrasound scan. Pretty sure this is not malignant, but this is what will be causing the lower back pain and hip pain. All her other terrible symptoms are from the toxic drug she has to take for a minimum of 5 years - Tamoxifen.

Sonia is feeling more positive about her future and thanks everyone again for your kind donations and positive thoughts. She is very humbled.
