Please help Frankie by donating a little so she can have her life saving kidney transplant
Bay of Plenty
Born with one kidney which failed when she was five, Frankie received her mother's kidney at age 6 which lasted almost 19 years, before it also failed. Frankie has been on Haemodialysis for the last 5 years. Doctors told her there was only a 10 per cent chance she would find a perfect match because of her medical history, and she almost lost hope until Tauranga mother of two Lianne Bateman stepped forward three years ago.
"Doctors told me that if did not get a kidney soon, I was not expected to live beyond the next two years. All I want is to be a normal healthy mother for my seven-year-old daughter Lexi and be there to see her grow up and have children of her own. I want to be a grandmother, and maybe a great-grandmother, and do all the normal things other people can do” – Frankie
Frankie is due to have her transplant on the 5th of October 2016. In the meantime, Frankie is having to pay around $2000.00 for accommodation in Auckland while her medical team keep a close eye on her to make sure the kidney is not rejected by her body, along with travel expenses, food and everyday costs while Frankie is in Auckland having the transplant, she also needs to maintain her living costs back home. Frankie’s mum is also flying to New Zealand from America for 4 weeks to be with Frankie and this is going to cost $1800 in flights.
Please help Frankie by donating a little so she can have her life saving transplant and get home to her family to live the normal life she has been waiting so long for.
