Help Ragnar’s Amputation Surgery and Recovery.

Blenheim, Marlborough

Hello everyone,

Three months ago, my husband, his cousin, and our beloved German Shepherd Ragnar were involved in a serious car accident. While the humans have been recovering with medical care, Ragnar’s situation has worsened.

Ragnar’s left front leg became paralyzed after the accident. The vet initially recommended waiting to see if it would recover on its own. Unfortunately, three months have passed, and not only has there been no improvement, his condition has deteriorated. Because he cannot feel his leg, Ragnar keeps licking the area, causing a deep wound where the bone is now visible.

The only way to relieve his suffering and save his life is amputation.

At the moment, my husband is unable to return to work due to his own injuries, and I do not have a job so I can stay home to care for him, our child, and Ragnar. The cost of surgery, hospitalization, and post-operative care is estimated at around NZD 4,500–5,000, which is more than we can afford on our own.

We are reaching out to kind-hearted people for help. Every contribution, no matter how small, will go directly to Ragnar’s surgery and recovery care. With your support, Ragnar can overcome this difficult time and still live a happy life — even as a three-legged dog.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping Ragnar. Any donation or share of this page means the world to us. 🐾❤️

The cost of our dog's surgery, along with medical expenses for my family, has gone far beyond what we can afford.
