Funding for Kate Laidler to Attend Drama School

Hey!

My name is Kate Laidler, some of you may know me because you've worked with me on set, on stage or behind the scenes. Or you're a friend / family member who hasn't heard me shut up about acting ever.

I'm so happy to say I have been accepted into an amazing Drama school, called The Actors Program for 2024. This is a one year program, and it doesn't qualify for student funding or allowance, so l'll be paying this off myself and moving to a new city. The total sum is $16k.

I am extremely lucky to have gotten into this school, with only 16 students making it in, and hundreds of applicants. The school only takes actors of at least 19 years of age, with a majority older student body. However, they have taken me even though I will be 18 for the duration of this course (first auditioned at 17).

I have pursued my acting career since the day I could walk and talk, and I left school a year early to properly pursue acting. Since then I have been in multiple projects, and have been making strides not just in NZ but internationally. I have been accepted into other International Drama schools for next year, but TAP is the perfect fit for me.

I have been so lucky to work with people I have, and I can imagine the doors this will now open for me. I really appreciate any help people can give, even just a share. I know these months are not easy for anyone! Anything contributed would be a major help and will not go unappreciated.
