After 75 days in hospital and many operations Gerard has now moved into a rehabilitation centre and has been there for a week now.
Gerard turns 49 on Monday 29th September - it would be awesome if people could visit him or call/text him to show support.
He is in House 1 at ABI Rehabilitation Centre, 180 Metcalf Road, Ranui.

Gerard is being very positive about the rehabilitation ahead.
He has started to take weight on his left leg and the cast comes of that leg next week.
Ged will soon be fitted for a prosthetic leg and learn to start walking again.
The doctors informed Ged last week that due to the head injury he has permanent loss of vision in his right eye.
Gerard has lost 50kg since going into hospital and is now sporting a beard.
