Please support our Special Olympics Manukau athletes to get to the National Summer Games in 2022.
Auckland
UPDATE: The National Summer Games have been postponed to 2022 due to the Delta outbreak in Aotearoa. All other event information remains the same.
Special Olympics Manukau is a club that gives adults with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to compete in sports. The National Summer Games are held once every 4 years and, as the name suggests, is a NATIONAL event where athletes from across the country gather to compete in their favourite sport. This year, the Games will be in Hamilton and we are in need of funds to help our team of 15 athletes and 7 volunteer coaches to get there!
We have a range of athletes who wish to attend the Games this year - young, old, first-timers and veterans. Each athlete has been training hard in their sport for years and attending the Games truly is a highlight.
To register for the Games there is a cost of $885.50 (!!) per athlete and this DOESN'T include transport, snacks, and any personal sporting gear. We desperately don't want any of our athletes to have to miss out for financial reasons, so genuinely appreciate any donations we receive.
Special Olympics Manukau helps people with intellectual disabilities access sport. We have athletes who compete in swimming, bowling, equestrian, basketball and golf.
Athlete registration fee and transport to and from the Games. Any surplus money will go straight back to Special Olympics Manukau and help with new uniforms, banners and local events.
