Swimming from Rangitoto to St Heliers Bay (4.6km) to raise money for Special Olympics Manukau.

Auckland

On Sunday 18th March Shan and Stu will swim from Rangitoto back to St Heliers Bay, an open water swim of 4.6km. Show your support to us and Special Olympics Manukau by making a donation!

Special Olympics Manukau, a branch of Special Olympics NZ, helps people with intellectual disabilities realise their full potential through sports. We rely on volunteers to coach and support athletes in swimming, athletics, equestrian, bowling, golf and basketball. I (Shan) have been involved with Special Olympics for decades - from a young age, watching and cheering for my brother (Brent) as an athlete - to now, as the swimming coach and manager for Special Olympics Manukau. Last year we took a team of 16 to the National Summer Games. Athletes and volunteer coaches from across the country met in Wellington for a week of competitions in a range of sports. Our athletes did the club proud through their determination, sportsmanship and results. Of course, these opportunities are not possible without funding... So please show your support for Special Olympics Manukau by sponsoring us in our ocean swim!
