Team New Zealand Roller Derby needs your support to travel across the globe and take on the world’s best, let’s show ‘em what we’re made of!
Nationwide
Team New Zealand Roller Derby (TNZRD) are the pinnacle of roller derby talent in New Zealand, showcasing the country’s best athletes in this fast-paced and strategic full-contact sport.
Team New Zealand will compete at the 2025 Roller Derby World Cup in Innsbruck, Austria, this July alongside 48 other international teams. This will be the biggest tournament - World Cup or otherwise! - that roller derby has ever seen, and to get there, we need YOUR help!
In order to represent our country in Austria, our 20 skaters and 5 coaches will be travelling further than any other team attending the tournament. This comes with huge costs including flights, transport, accommodation, and equipment.
Funding international travel for non-professional sporting teams is very difficult. We are calling on you to help raise the funds needed for essential costs.
Backing Team New Zealand Roller Derby is not only an investment in the team but also the promotion of women's sports, gender inclusivity, and the roller derby community.
Roller derby is a contact team sport played on roller skates on a flat track and involves two teams, with five members from each team on the track at any given time: one jammer (the scorer) and four blockers (defense/offense). The jammers score points by lapping members of the opposing team, while the blockers work to stop the opposing jammer. It is a sport that will take your breath away!
Thank you for supporting Team New Zealand Roller Derby!
All funds raised through this campaign will be distributed evenly amongst 25 players and bench staff to be used toward the cost of return flights, internal transport, accommodation, equipment, uniforms and other tournament-related expenses.
