Fundraiser for a gift of a Yad for Sarah Livschitz

Auckland

Sarah Livschitz, who grew up at Beth Shalom, is about to be ordained a rabbi at Hebrew Union College in Los Angeles. Rabbi Dean will attend the ceremony to represent us.

We’re giving her a very special ordination present: a yad made out of pounamu. This Torah pointer, carved by our own Leonard Bloksberg, will help her keep the spirit and energy of New Zealand and Beth Shalom with her throughout her rabbinic career. Rabbi Dean will carry it with him in May, and present it to her during Ordination Weekend.

Please consider contributing to the cost of the yad using this Givealittle Any donation is appreciated. Funds collected over and above the cost of the yad will be donated to Yachad.

Here’s Leonard’s website to get a sense of his work: https://www.crystillery.com/.

This is, truly, a once in a generation simcha for Beth Shalom!

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
