Beth Shalom

Beth Shalom

Beth Shalom is the progressive Jewish synagogue in Auckland.

Epsom, Auckland

Beth Shalom is a small and strong vibrant community with a spiritual heart embracing Jewish life and its diversity. We have about 180 member households in our beautiful shul in the heart of the city. We are kiwis and immigrants, all ages and life stages, we are inclusive to all who want to be part of our community. Our year begins with the High Holidays, which are open to all (tickets for non-members are available to purchase). This is followed in the spring by the Shabbaton, a weekend of prayer, song, activities, food, learning, and connecting, in the beautiful Waitakeres, and including a children’s programme. Summer is Channukah lighting candles together; then the fall brings Passover sales and a community shared Second Seder, and Tikkun Leil, a late evening of learning and cheesecake. Please come along to any Bar or Bat Mitzvah and the kiddish afterwards - formal invitation not necessary! We also participate actively in wider Jewish Community events like the Purim carnival and Channukah in the Park, and have inter-faith and social action activities too.
