Give a little leg up to Cheryl

Cheryl Mockford is a truly remarkable member of the Timaru community, whose compassion and generosity have uplifted countless lives over the past seven years. For the last three years, she has selflessly run Second Chance, a free community shop funded entirely through donations. Through this space, Cheryl provides a safe and welcoming environment where vulnerable families can access essential homewares and everyday items — helping improve their living conditions and restore dignity, all at no cost.

She is also a dedicated volunteer with Life Church, where she has spent the past three years using her own time, fuel, and resources to deliver food and bakery goods to families in need.

Now, Cheryl needs our help. Due to severe knee issues, she urgently requires replacement surgery, but the public health system has declined her despite her inability to work and immense contribution to the community. Without this surgery, Cheryl may be forced to stop the very work that so many rely on.
