I am a stroke survivor, riding the length of New Zealand on a recumbent trike and raising money for other people who have had strokes.
Whakatane, Bay Of Plenty
I am a stroke survivor. 8 years ago I couldn't walk or talk. Now I can talk a little and I go to a speech support group through aphasia new Zealand. I also go to Awhi Mai Stroke group.
My mobility has improved too. And now I can ride a trike, which gives me freedom to go places.
I am riding the length of New Zealand. This is a personal goal for me.
Any money raised will go to support others like my friend Paula from the aphasia speech group. I want to help her get her trike fixed so she can enjoy biking like me.
Paula is a friend I met through the aphasia nz speech group. We see each other at the weekly meetings on zoom. The Awhi Mai Stroke group is a support group I belong to.
Paula needs roughly $500 for some maintenance on her recumbent trike. Funds raised beyond this will go to Awhi Mai Stroke Group.
Arrived! 6 August 2024
