Greg Harkerss' Cancer Battle

Anyone who knows Greg and his wife Debi know they don't do things by halves.

Up until just recently they owned and operated The Black Pearl Tavern, making it a welcome place for all who entered and a great country music venue to nurture both up and coming and seasoned talent. While Debi is the vivacious face of this amazing couple, Greg works tirelessly behind the scenes. They both love their community and give so much to it.

Greg has been diagnosed with throat cancer and is currently undergoing hyperbaric oxygen treatment (HBOT) to prepare him for the road ahead. This will greatly aid in his recovery.

We are raising money to help fund the hire / purchase of a Hyperbaric oxygen chamber. This is initially over a 13-week period. This will fund a few weeks prior to medical treatment, during treatment and a short time after treatment. Any other money raised over the cost of this will help Greg during his recovery.

HBOT helps block the action of harmful bacteria and strengthens the body's immune system. HBOT can disable the toxins of certain bacteria. It also increases oxygen concentration in the tissues. This helps them resist infection. In addition, the therapy improves the ability of white blood cells to find and destroy invaders such as cancer cells.
