Please help me donate to this well-deserving family,

My Nephew Harley is a bright ten-year-old, well-mannered, typical active kiwi kid who loves sports. A good, polite boy who is keen to help.

Recently Harley has been diagnosed with a life-threatening condition, Severe Aplastic Anemias. This disorder occurs when your body has complete absence of hematopoietic stem cells resulting low levels of red and white blood cells and platelets.

Harley’s blood cell levels were dangerously low as he has no functioning bone marrow, leaving Harley exhausted, prone to infections and puts extreme stress on his heart.

The treatment for Aplastic anemia is a Bone Marrow transplant which requires a donor wit

h the correct specific attributes to be located, which could take several months to find. While he waits, Harley will need consistent blood transfusions, tests and needs to isolate from sick people.

Once we find a donor, Harley will undergo Chemotherapy before the transplant with a 4-month stay in Starship Hospital.

Everyday life for Harley has been turned upside down, unable to play sports, quarantine from public areas and school visits are limited. Harley's immediate future consists of lots of hospital appointments, a careful diet and little interaction for fear of infection,

For Harleys parents, the strain is clear to see. Though being ever stoic, they have had to give up work to care for Harley 24/7. Based in Tauranga, the costs of travelling to Starship Hospital and staying in Auckland is becoming a real burden.
