Harriet our Little ❤️ Warrior

Small steps, BIG Journey ❤️

The past week has been ‘one foot in front of each other’’. As you know her chest was left open and in those early days post surgery on May 1, progress was minimal. On Tuesday morning the surgical team closed her chest. The specialist team at Starship were then able to undertake more tests.

As the days went on, in true Harriet fashion she has made some small incremental improvements.

Yesterday was a big day and a huge step forward for Harriet! Her breathing tube was removed!

After 14 long days Lou finally got to cuddle her precious little girl. A very emotional and special moment. She’s just hanging out for a cuddle from her brother and Dad now!!

Harriet is still having some support with her oxygen and has progressed to high flowing oxygen prongs. This will help her heart manage and function.

We’re still in PICU and not out of the woods yet. Yesterday they did some more scans and have found that some of the valves that have been causing her some trouble have worsened. We are not entirely sure what this means for Harriet and her recovery but we will continue to take it hour by hour, day by day.

She is so strong and such an inspiration to us. We know she will continue to fight and we thank you all so much for sharing your strength and fighting with her.

All of love, Team Harriet xx
