I'm planning a website which will share kōrero with Māori, making connections between kai, lifestyle, the environment, hauroa, and animals.
Auckland
Kia ora koutou,
Last year I wrote an article called 'But what about boil-up' about Māori who are exploring plant-based diets. https://thespinoff.co.nz/atea/16-11-2018/but-what-about-boil-up-how-maori-are-embracing-veganism/ Now, I'm planning a project that develops those ideas.
I'm preparing a website which will present kōrero from Māori from across Aotearoa. The aim of the website is to encourage more of us to make connections between kai, lifestyle, te taiao (the environment), hauora (health), and non-human animals. It will also highlight Māori who are leading, and doing things differently around food and related issues. The site will be of interest to vegans, vegetarians, people who want to explore traditional diets, those interested in zero waste, and everyone who cares about well-being at both individual and collective levels.
I already have a lot of amazing contributors on board, but there are some costs to running this project - such as the website, design, and providing a non-monetary koha for contributors. I'm able to meet some of these costs myself, but I need a little bit of help with the rest.
If you're able to, please consider making a small contribution to help get this project going.
Ngā manaakitanga,
Nā Piripi (Philip)
Your support will help to fund the website, design, and non-monetary koha for contributors.
