Support the Aitutaki Aquatics Club's journey to the School Sport Australia Swimming Championships by helping cover their travel expenses.
International
Support the Aitutaki Aquatics Club as they travel to the Gold Coast, Australia, to participate in the School Sport Australia (SSA) Swimming Championships at the Gold Coast Aquatics Centre from July 24-31, 2024. Your generous contribution will help cover travel expenses, enabling our six talented swimmers to compete on an international stage.
Celebrating Our Swim Stars
Our swimmers' exceptional performance at the Cook Islands National Kau Competition, where they brought home 12 medals, has earned them the chance to represent the Cook Islands in Australia. This opportunity is a testament to their hard work and dedication under the guidance of their coach, Dani Adendorff. Embracing their first international swim event, Coach Dani and her team are showcasing the true beauty of sports by seizing opportunities and overcoming challenges.
About Us
In the Cook Islands, we are surrounded by water and spend countless hours swimming in lagoons, oceans, and pools. As an aquatics club, we strive to provide innovative opportunities for everyone, whether for competition, fitness, or water safety. Water safety and swimming skills are fundamental for all water sports, including sailing, oe vaka, paddleboarding, and snorkelling.
How You Can Help
Your support is crucial to making this dream a reality. Every donation, big or small, will go directly towards travel expenses for our team. Thank you for helping our swimmers take this incredible step forward.
I am a parent of one of the six swimmers in the Aitutaki Aquatics Club team going to Australia, overseeing this fundraising effort to manage funds securely for their travel expenses.
The money will cover airfares, entry fees, accommodation, and daily living expenses such as food for the Aitutaki Aquatics Club team.
Awesome Day for Our Aitutaki Swimmers 4 April 2026
Today, our School Sport Australia swimmers from 2024, had the privilege of training with open water legend Dan Abel, from Fit & Abel New Zealand, who has completed the English Channel, Cook Strait, and a solo swim around Rarotonga’s outer reef!
Growing up in Aitutaki, our tamariki already respect and connect with the ocean and show environmental awareness 💙🌴
Building on fitness, skills and technique, Dan shared his 5 step recipe for swimming success:
1️⃣ Breathing
2️⃣ Body position
3️⃣ Legs
4️⃣ Arms + breathing
5️⃣ Everything else
Our swimmers also graduated as Swim Assistants today!
Meitaki Atupaka to Turama Pacific Aitutaki, Stephen and Poppy Doherty, for making this possible, and to Dan Abel, from Fit and Abel NZ, for sharing his knowledge and time.
