Help us raise $30,000 for Candice Emery’s life-saving treatment, Trametinib, as she fights a rare illness with no government funding.
Auckland
Candice Emery is a much loved daughter, sister and niece - the only girl among 5 brothers and the shining light in her whānau. She is curently in the fight of her life, facing a condition that has led to multiple tumours.
Candice is fighting a rare and aggressive condition, but her life-saving treatment isn’t funded by the New Zealand government. In 2025, only 285 people nationwide qualify for publicly funded access to the drug Trametinib—and only if they have stage 3B or stage 4 melanoma. Candice doesn’t meet these strict criteria. On top of this, she has congenital health conditions that exclude her from other categories of consideration. This means she must pay the full cost of treatment herself—around $5,000 per month. Every dollar raised will go directly toward the next six months of critical medical care.
We're urgently seeking help to cover the next six months of life-saving treatment, totalling $30,000. This cost is strictly for medical bills and does not include daily costs like petrol, parking, food and water for her caregiver (her Māmā Natalie) who stays by her side every step of the way.
Every dollar counts. Every share helps. And every act of kindness brings hope.
Please help us keep Candice in the fight - strong, surrounded by aroha, and supported every step of the way.
From our whānau to yours, thank you for standing with Candice. Tihei! Mauri Ora!
I am Candice’s aunty and a constant supporter of her incredible mother, Natalie, who stands by her side every day.
The $30,000 will fund Candice’s ongoing medication Trametinib needed to treat her rare, aggressive condition. Every dollar goes directly to her care, easing the burden on her whānau and giving her the best chance to keep fighting.
