Chuckiee is battling cancer again - Help her to fund essential treatment
Wellington
Chuckiee's sunshine in human form to everyone in her life.
She has big dreams for a future with her partner Max & their fur baby, Cinnamon. But instead of planning that future, she’s battling cancer again.
July 2023—Routine surgery for endometriosis led to a devastating diagnosis: Stage 2B Low-Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer. The cancer had already spread to both ovaries and other pelvic organs, forcing her into a relentless cycle of surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy.
April 2024—Chuckiee had done the impossible. She was in remission.
For a moment, we all hoped that the hardest part was behind her.
Just months later, Chuckiee received terrible news. Now at Stage 3, her cancer is back, spreading to the lining of her abdominal cavity. She faces more grueling treatment and uncertainty.
Behind her strength and resilience, there’s an unseen burden—cancer is not just physically and emotionally exhausting, it’s financially crushing. Her savings are gone, medical bills are mounting, and crucial tests & treatments that could help her aren’t funded in New Zealand.
100km Challenge—Chuckiee & Jayde will take on the huge task of running 100km throughout February and March to raise funds for Chuckiee's treatment!

An update from Chuckiee 28 February 2025
I'm feeling incredibly loved and supported—thank you for the kind messages, calls, and generosity. I wish I could reply to everyone, but chemo brain makes it tough to keep up. Please know I see and appreciate every single message. A huge thank you to those who have donated via Givealittle or sent support directly. Your kindness means the world.
I had hoped to run more, but my body and mental health have been struggling. Still, I’ve managed 25.8km running and 39.6km walking, and Jayde has been incredible—she ran the Round the Bays half marathon (21km) for us, plus extra runs, bringing her total to 35km running and 50km walking.
Health update: I’ve decided to pause treatment for now—honestly, I just didn’t have the fight in me for a while. The treatments were taking a toll on my body and mind. I’ll be resuming chemo later in March. In the meantime, I’ve applied for clinical trials in Japan and Singapore, hoping for new possibilities.
If you have the time and means, please check out my Givealittle page or take a moment to learn more about ovarian cancer through Ovarian Cancer Action or the Ovarian Cancer Foundation NZ. Awareness and research mean everything in this fight.
