As the Managing Director of Downlights, I’ve dedicated the last 7 years to creating meaningful employment opportunities and beautiful products that light up homes across Aotearoa.

But today, I’m writing this with vulnerability & honesty.

Running Downlights is no small feat – from manufacturing alongside our team to sales, strategic planning, partnerships, emails, packing orders, writing shareholder reports, overviewing financials, & managing The Trust – I do it all. Years of this workload have taken a toll. After a significant illness last year, I am at the point of BURNOUT

Yet I refuse to let Downlights or our incredible staff fade away.

Due to the downward economic trend in NZ, it has become impossible to hire the help we need to grow. For Downlights to survive, we require a consistent 20% increase in sales each month to cover costs and keep our team employed.

I have an opportunity to take part in a $5,000 Ecommerce mentoring programme that will equip me with skills, tools, and strategies to grow Downlights’ online sales, reach new customers, and secure the future of our social enterprise.

I can’t do this alone.
