Running 100km for New Zealand at the 2022 World Championships relies on 100% self-funding - please help Fi fly in Berlin!
Wellington
It’s an incredible honour to have been selected to represent New Zealand (NZ) at the 2022 International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) 100km World Championships in Berlin, Germany (27 August). The course consists of one 2.5km loop then thirteen times a 7.5km out-and-back. Almost dead-flat, on an asphalt path through forest, the pace will be fast and furious!
I’m 100% committed to the significant hours of training and sacrifices required to get to the start-line in the best shape possible. For the month leading into the World Champs, I'm based near Berlin. Here in Magdeburg, I’m able to train on similar terrain and in comparable conditions, ensuring I’m acclimatised come race day.
Unlike some other sportspersons representing New Zealand on the world stage, ultra-runners have no funding. To line-up at the 100km World Champs is fully self-funded, costing around $5,500.
If you're in a position to GIVE-A-LITTLE, I'd be exceedingly grateful. All contributions will MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Come race day, I'll proudly wear the silver fern, and with your support “fly” the NZ flag as best I can!
Athletics NZ Admin + Uniform ($600), Flights ($3,300), Accommodation ($1,200), Land Transport ($250), Travel Insurance ($150)
Additionally, I need a considerable amount of fuel to keep my engine roaring ;)
Cheers Stuart 😊🙏
