Help Finn Afford Top Surgery

Hi I'm Finn, I go by He/they pronouns and I'm fundraising for my top surgery! I've been out of the closet for 5 years and after being on Testosterone for over a year I've decided that top surgery is the next step in my transition that I need to make so that future me can have a better quality of life. Top surgery is going to be a huge benefit to both my mental and physical health and will help me to live a higher quality of life and make my skin feel like my own. Unfortunately having this surgery paid for with the help of my parents is not an option for me as my dad does not want to help me with any aspect of my transition and my mum isn't in the financial position to help me with a cost like this.

The city that I live in now does have a public waiting list for top surgery that I am on, but due to its selection being randomised and that so many people are on it. I don't know how long I will be waiting for and I am also unable to move outside of my DHB because I will lose my application. This is quite stressful as I am one third of the way through studying my undergraduate degree and wish to move countries to pursue my postgraduate degree but can't because of this.

The surgeon I have chosen is Doctor Chris Porter and as I have yet to have my first consultation appointment with him, I don't know what the final cost will be. However, after contacting him via email I now know that it will be between $16,000-$18,500, because of this my donation goal will be set at $17,000 for now until after my consultation appointment in 2021 where I will adjust the donation goal to the final price.
