Northland
Glenn McDonald is a highly regarded Basketball coach having coached top high school teams. After moving to Northland and making the switch to Wheelchair basketball, the Northland Wheelchair Basketball team and now the New Zealand Men's Team have benefited greatly from Glenn's Basketball knowledge and coaching prowess. Glenn's team has been selected to compete at a Tri-Series tournament where they will face off against Thailand and South Africa in an intense competition in Thailand from 16th - 24th November 2019.
Wheelchair Basketball is one of the largest, most popular and fastest growing wheelchair sports in the world. New Zealand is in the Asia/Oceania Zone of 29 nations, and rates between 6th - 10th. The Roller Blacks must compete regularly at an international level to keep up with international standards and develop the sport in New Zealand.
The cost is NZD$2,048 per person.
However, there is no government funding for Wheelchair Basketball in New Zealand. Any contributions or donations to this trip would be hugely appreciated.
