Help fund Holly's cancer treatment
Havelock North, Hawke's Bay
"In August 2023 my best-friend Holly, 25 y/o, found out her cancer had returned and metastasised in her pelvis/abdomen; now Stage 4 Melanoma. She was told, without treatment she had a fleeting 12 months to live.
Holly is her mothers (Fiona) only child. She is her main support and has been by her side every step of the way. Fiona is working tirelessly to support Holly through this devastating time.
Holly’s nature is an extraordinary influence to so many. She radiates kindness and compassion - always going above and beyond to help anybody, animal and being. The resilience she has shown to the challenges that have arisen is admirable. Even with all the hardships she has had to face she still exudes positivity and appreciation towards life. Between her daily pills and rounds of Immunotherapy (pembrolizimab) she continues to work her part-time job and create for her clothing label 'Olli'.
She's been undergoing treatment since September 2023 and is responding well but the ongoing costs are taking their toll. Unfortunately, Pharmac doesn't fund any of her other treatment options (BRAF inhibitors) and we will need to self fund treatment at $8800+ per month in the future. The reality of the financial burden ahead has become evident and without the support of our community these life-saving drugs will be inaccessible to Holly.
Holly is beyond deserving of more time. Her mum and her need your support. We are immensely grateful for any love or financial support you can offer, thank you x"

Goal adjustment 13 November 2024
Hi team,
We are endlessly grateful for the generosity that the community has shown to support Holly. We have however had to readjust the current goal due to an increase in medical costs. Here are a few of the reasons as to why we are needing the extra support.
As Holly moves towards self-funding her medication and accessing required medical equipment we realised that our initial goal was not sufficient.
Additional Costs:
-Anticancer drugs have increased from $8800 per month to $13,500 per month.
-Access to a Lymphoedema specialist
-The purchase of the LF900 Compression pump at $2700
-Any other unexpected costs
Thank you once again,
with love
