At 65, Karen is NZ’s oldest female bodybuilding athlete to be invited to the World Natural Games in Canberra, 1-3 November 2024
Auckland
Karen transformed her health and lifestyle at aged 57 when she began bodybuilding in 2016. In eight years she’s competed in 25 events around New Zealand and has won numerous gold, silver and bronze medals in the 50+, 60+ and Open Figure categories. This year she has been invited by ICN NZ to compete at the ICN (iCompete Natural) World Natural Games in Canberra after her success in regional and national events.
This is the first time in the 30+ year history of the sport that Canberra will host this prestigious event and the first time Karen will represent NZ on the international stage. She is proud to represent her country and her coach Johanna Mountfort (johannamountfort.com).
Please help Karen get to Canberra to show the world that senior citizens can flex!
Frances is Karen’s sister who is organising the trip for Karen.

ICN World Champion 60+, 50+ 5 November 2024
It was an incredible weekend at the ICN World Games in Canberra representing Team NZ. I placed 1st in Ms Figure 60+, 1st in Ms Figure 50+, 2nd in Ms Figure Under 52kg and 5th in Ms Figure Open. I also qualified for Pro Ms Figure for the first time but didn’t place in the top 5 in a lineup of 9. My fellow NZ teammates coached by Joanna Mountfort also did extremely well. I am so grateful to you all for your support and donations, making this all possible. I look forward to a break from intense training until the next competition in NZ in 2025! - Karen
