Help KJs Battle with DIPG 💙🙏

This beautiful smile belongs to a young 6yr old boy named Tupou Kapetaua Tatafu Jr aka KJ. He's a very happy, vibrant and energetic child with a cheeky smile that will melt your heart!

Just over a week ago our boy was taken to Starship Hospital in Auckland after his parents noticed some change in his speech and behavior. After a few anxiety ridden days of waiting for a diagnosis and praying for the best, we were devastated to hear KJ has been diagnosed with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma).

DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) is a very rare, aggressive, cancerous brain tumor and is unfortunately inoperable. DIPG is so rare that less than 0.00025% of children are diagnosed with it in New Zealand per year. DIPG has a 0% survival rate. The median overall survival of children diagnosed with DIPG is approximately 9 months. The 1- and 2-year survival rates are approximately 30% and less than 10%, respectively. These statistics make DIPG one of the most devastating pediatric cancers.

KJ's parents have been told he does not have long. With radiation therapy and an army of prayer warriors, we hope to slow down the tumor's rapid growth and buy KJ some precious time.
