Please help this spotted tabby cat Lea Brando recover from acute pancreatitis & surgery... to be herself again!
Christchurch, Canterbury
Lea Brando is a very energetic spotted tabby we adopted from Cats Protection League when she was a few months old. Since adoption, she has shown her personality - definitely a unique character! She loves nothing more than eating; so with this in mind, she is also very easy to teach some tricks! On command she can "sit down," "give/paw," "shake/paws," and "high five!"
However, early this week, Lea Brando suddenly started acting out of character. We saw multiple vomits on the carpet and the garage. And she wasn't being vocal as usual - and Lea is known to have many different types of meow sounds. She spent most of the day just laying down somewhere or hiding under the bed. Even after calling her to eat - her favourite activity - she showed disinterest.
After a couple of vet appointments, it turns out she is suffering from acute pancreatitis. She has been in and out between her regular vet clinic and the after hours clinic which costs a lot more as they require payment upfront. At this stage, Lea has to stay at after hours for 24 hours this time and might need to have an 'exploratory surgery' if she doesn't improve soon. This operation will cost $4,000 straight out of pocket.
We are also trying to earn money through other means such as selling valuable items online, however, the vet bills are coming in faster than any selling. We kindly ask you for any help you can give, whether by sharing the link or any dollar you can spare.
Thank you
Regardless of the amount that will be earned, all proceeds go straight to Lea Brando's vet bills. All for her wellbeing!
