Inviting people to help make Camp Purple Live 2027 possible for Kiwi kids living with IBD.

Nationwide

Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis — together known as Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) — are lifelong autoimmune conditions that can make everyday life incredibly tough. For kids, that challenge is even bigger. Many deal with constant pain, missed school, hospital stays, and the feeling that no one around them truly understands what they’re going through. New Zealand has one of the highest rates of IBD in the world, so this is the reality for thousands of young people.

That’s why Crohn’s & Colitis New Zealand (CCNZ) created Camp Purple Live — a summer camp for children and teens aged 9 to 17 living with IBD. Each year, kids from all over Aotearoa come together for a week that feels completely different from their normal lives.

At Camp Purple Live, they build confidence, independence, resilience, and real friendships with others who just get it. For many, it’s the first time they’ve met someone their own age who shares their condition. They laugh, learn, try new things, and discover they’re not alone — and that can be life‑changing.

Our next camp will take place in January 2027 in Auckland, and we’re committed to keeping it accessible for every family.

Your support helps make Camp Purple Live possible. Every donation, big or small, helps us give these incredible young people a week where they can simply be themselves, have fun, and feel understood.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
