Help Matt fight this cancer and spend his time left making cherished memories with Maddie and Tessa.
Otago
Our son, Matt Feaver has in the last month been diagnosed with stage 4 gastric cancer. This has been a huge shock to our family as less than 3 months ago he was a fighting fit 34 year old. Matt has started intense chemotherapy treatments and is considering any complimentary treatments that may help. The future is uncertain for Matt and although he has been given a terminal diagnosis, Matt is committed to fighting for every minute he can with his family and friends.
As his parents, we want to make the time he has left as stress-free as possible by helping him and Tessa cover the shortfall in chemotherapy as well as a range of other therapies they wish to try. We also want to make sure they have everything they need day to day so they have plenty of time to make cherished memories.
Matt is an amazing, hands-on dad to a beautiful one year old Maddie and a loved partner to Tessa. This wee family are going to need all the help they can get for the foreseeable future and we are committed to giving them every bit of support they need, for as long as they may need it. Please help us out if you can!
As most of you will know Matt adores his friends and is extremely close with his family. It is without a doubt if the roles were reversed Matt would be and has been the first person to do what ever he can to support anyone else in his position. We are so grateful for your support during this difficult time.
I am Matt's cousin, and have assisted Matt's parents Kent and Julie create this page to support their beloved Son.
All money raised will help us support Matt and Tessa with the cost of ongoing chemotherapy and complimentary treatments as well as helping them take the pressure off day to day living expenses.
Update for our beautiful Matt 26 July 2022
To all who have loved Matthew so dearly, I need to pass on the devastating news that Matthew lost the fight with his dreaded cancer in the early hours of yesterday morning (Monday 25th July- the days our lives were shattered)
Matthew took on the challenge of any treatment recommended to him. From the boy who had always been so petrified of needles, he faced his fear with determination in the hope that he would be able to spend more time with his family. First and foremost his two girls, Tessa his partner and their little “munchkin” Maddie.
Matthew had the kindest heart, and had a capacity to love so dearly. He always placed others first, even when his life hung in the balance.
He was just so brave during the last 10 months, and actually got to the point where he reached the “sweet spot” whereby he had the opportunity to make treasured memories with Tessa and Maddie.
To everyone who has been so generous with his Give a Little page, I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart. To those who have asked recently what they can do to help, I know that all Matthew would wish for is your kindness and generosity towards Tessa and Maddie as they attempt to navigate their lives without Matt 💔
