Help Ethan Scarrow to fund his first season of karting!
Wellington
Motorsport has been a lifelong obsession for me. At this point karting is less of a dream and more of a target, because 'dream' implies that its beyond reality. I have had few chances of being involved with motorsport but every single one is an experience I will never forget. I do not come from any racing heritage or immense wealth. For most people like me, motorsport is out of reach, mostly due to the financing needed. However I cannot live with that, I am determined to break the mold. I simply cannot put into words the feeling that racing gives me. All worries and stresses of the outside world float away as I focus on the machine beneath me and the track in front. I only feel joy and adrenaline, whether I win or not. I dont think im any kind of prodigy or natural, but if given a chance I am determined to improve my skills and make sure that your investment (financial or otherwise) is worthwhile. My goal is to compete in at least one full season of karting through the Wellington Karting Club. As a full-time university student I am unable to support the costs myself with the weekend job I have and any help whatsoever is incredibly appreciated.

Update #1 26 December 2023
Firstly I would like to say thankyou to everyone who has donated to my page! Your support exceeded every expectation I had and im so grateful that other people believe in my dream!
In the past couple months I have been trying to make friends in the right places in order to learn about what I need to get into Karting and possible ways I can make starting easier from a financial aspect.
On the fundraiser page I noted that all equipment prices were just estimations and that the $15,000 goal may not be a true representation of the amount I needed to start karting. I have found that a lot of the things I previously thought you had to buy, can be cheaper to loan or rent and some items such as the helmet are a bit more expensive than I anticipated ($350-$3000), but either way, I will try and find the best deals without failing to consider the quality of the item. In other words I will try and get the best bang for my buck.
In other news I have been invited to the competitive karting league at Brewtown in Upperhutt. It is a small indoor rental track that runs a competitive league fortnightly for racers theyve spotted during regular hours who have done exceptionally in terms of pace and consistency. The league at Brewtown is more relaxed than KartSport Wellington, allowing plain clothes and everything is borrowed, just like regular gokarts. But it is certainly a step in the right direction and gives me a chance to have some experience before I can afford to join the club.
Thankyou so much Ian!! Merry Christmas!
Thankyou very very much! I will be sure to get a full helmet haha
