Kia ora, my name is Eliza, and I’m fundraising for our incredible mum, who is bravely battling a rare Stage 4 Anal Canal Cancer.
She’s only 60 years old — full of love, strength, and positivity. She’s always put others first, and now she needs our help.
Her Journey So Far:
In October 2024, our mum was diagnosed with Stage 4 anal canal cancer. In February 2025, she underwent radiation and chemotherapy, hoping to stop it. Sadly, the cancer has now spread to her lungs and distant lymph nodes, and public treatment options are limited.
Her oncologist has recommended immunotherapy (Pembrolizumab) paired with chemotherapy — a hopeful treatment that could improve her quality of life and extend her time with us.
What Is Immunotherapy?
Immunotherapy helps the body’s immune system fight cancer. It’s funded for some cancers in NZ, but not for anal canal cancer. The cost is $80,000, and we need your help.

Pre Xmas News 4 December 2025
Mum got her CT scan results today which were SO GOOD! The oncologist is happy with mums treatment, results and symptoms. Her blood tests are coming back good every week too. They’re unsure of exactly how much the chemo OR immunotherapy is contributing to the results but they’re happy nonetheless. Mum is feeling good mentally and physically. She’s tired but that’s about it! So all in all she is doing extremely well and is SO happy going into Xmas with these results and feelings.
