Help Pam in her Race against Cancer

**UPDATE** PAM'S CANCER HAS SPREAD!!

Pam is about to undergo an aggressive radiation treatment regime for new tumors. Amongst the tumors we already knew about, she now has had several other tumors appear - hence the need for further radiation. The FREE cancer patient accommodation is full up and her and Pete will have to stay in a hotel for the duration of her treatment. None of this comes cheap, so I implore you if you haven't already - please share this page and donate what you can.

DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO WOULD BE WILLING TO DONATE A SPA? Pam has pain in her bones and she greatly benefited from some warm hydrotherapy type treatment but can't do much in the way of constant travelling. Have you ever met a warrior in real life? I have! This is my amazing friend Pamela Nixon (Pam). She is an amazing wife to Pete, Mother to a son and three daughters and ‘Grammar’ to eleven grandchildren (who she adores).

Up until October 2020 Pam was living a very full and active life – she is an award winning motorsport driver and loves to inspire women of all ages to give things a go and make their dreams come to life! She is also a mosaic artist and creates beautiful mosaic artworks. Pam has been a licensed Counsellor/Supervisor in her native New Zealand for several years and her passion is to help people.

In mid-September 2020 Pam noticed a ‘niggle’ in her lower back and hip. The pain grew worse daily which lead her to the local Emergency Department. The pain became so excruciating that Pam was forced to finish work completely, and crutches were soon replaced by a wheelchair. Pam persisted to seek an MRI as she believed this was more than a ruptured disc, as Doctors initially suspected.

In mid-December 2020, just after her 62nd birthday, Pam was given the devastating news that she has a rare Metastatic Cancer, with several tumours wreaking damage to her spine and functionality.

As Pam and her family grappled to take in this devastating news, she was immediately admitted into hospital so that she could get some relief from the constant and excruciating pain. With medication this pain is now at a more manageable level.

Unfortunately, this type of Cancer is inoperable, and a recent CT scan has revealed that more tumours have appeared higher on her spine and also spread to both lungs.

There are other treatment options available to Pam, but they cost money and right now neither her nor Pete can afford it – this is where I come in. I’m Nola and very close friend to Pam and Pete and I offered to set up this fundraising page for them, as they simply don’t have the element of time to try and come up with ways to afford these treatments.

Please help by donating what you can so that Pam can get the treatment and assistance she needs to help give her more time…more time – isn’t that what we all want with our families.
