Help Pastor Edwin Torio’s Medical Expenses

At the hospital (North Shore Hospital), after the CT Scan and blood work, the doctors advised my sister that cancer has spread and that there’s infection in Dad’s blood stream that’s from a sinus infection. All of which were not present based on what the doctors from the Philippines advised. Dad was then admitted to the ICU as he needs close monitoring while being very agitated. The doctors advised that they cannot treat his cancer as it is now in a terminal stage. All they could do now is control and treat the infection to lessen the edema and the swelling of his brain. Unfortunately, they cannot take spinal fluid to identify what the bug is because Dad’s blood is too thin and he might bleed out and may cause paralysis too. The doctors are very kind to not do more harm on Dad. Now, he is still at the hospital receiving care with antibiotics and close monitoring.

The hospital has reached out to me since I am the only family member working here in New Zealand. I was advised that Dad’s hospitalization won’t be cheap because they are only here with Visitor’s Visa and without any insurance.

Update: Dad has just been discharged from the hospital and will need to rest and regain his strength so he can fly back to the Philippines. He's on plenty of medications for the infection, his heart and the brain swelling. As for the hospital bill, I have been given an estimate of $58,323.79. I have not received the final bill and we would appreciate all your help.
