Trying to help my little man

Pukekohe, Auckland

Hello everyone, this morning my 2 year old black pug decided to go on a adventure to the neighbors house, and before you decide to criticise me for not stopping him, he had gotten out by himself and usually when this happens he is on the front lawn eating the bread we throw on it for the birds, we had no idea that this one time everything would go horribly wrong. It turned into a hit and run situation, i unfortunately was the one to discover him howling and screaming in pain unable to move his legs, i picked him up to find grazes all over his tummy and bare bone on his back left leg. We took him straight to the vet and sadly he has a shattered pelvis. The initial vet cost was around $700 but now after speaking to the vet have been increased to $5,000- $10,000. Though we will try to scrape up what we have and sell off as much as we can to save up we will try to pay for most of it ourselves but we could really use the help. Whilst all of this was happening our little 14 week old kitten Luna was at the vet being treated from having eaten part of a lily. It was a one out one in situation. So please help us help Pickle. :(

In recovery   15 January 2022

Pickle is at home now and is recovering well. Had a little hiccup with pain problems first day home and had to go back for a injectable pain killer. He has a checkup next week to get his stitches removed. Then five more weeks of crate rest. Again, Thank you to everyone for your support!😊

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause. Hello. Sorry to hear about Pickle. He looks like a little trooper so I’m sure he’ll be okay in time. I have heard one of the pet insurance companies on the radio advertising for these situations. They cover the treatment and you sign up with them. I can’t remember the exact details sorry. Might be worth a look?
