'PK' Paul Kennelly needs his hearing back so he can continue to help others in his community more effectively.
Waikato
'PK' Paul Kennelly is a valuable member of his local community in Thames on the Coromandel Peninsula. As a mental health support worker he does great work supporting people at their most vulnerable. He was recently awarded for his outstanding work in this field by his employers.
'PK' also engages fully in other areas of community life, including teaching Meditation and Mindfulness techniques (he is also known locally by his Buddhist name 'Amritadaka) and he is active in community theatre with the 'Open Book Theatre Company' and the Thames Steampunk Festival. He also serves on the Trust Board of the Thames Community Centre.
However 'PK' now needs some support himself. He has suffered substantial hearing loss over the years, partially due to early cancer treatment as a teenager, which although ultimately effective for his cancer, carried significant side effects.. Unfortunately the records from the 1970's do not exist adequately enough for ACC or other coverage to be established now. So we are seeking the support of others to help cover some of the costs of hearing aids for 'PK.'
I am supporting my husband 'PK' Paul Kennelly to raise funds for hearing aids. In his work as an award-winning mental health support worker his ability to hear is of utmost importance.
To help cover some of the costs of hearing aids for 'PK' Paul Kennelly. If any surplus funds are raised they will be donated to CanTeen NZ.
Listen Up! A shout-out of Thanks to everyone who supported PK get his hearing back. 13 June 2020
PK is enjoying his enhanced hearing and thanks everyone who supported him through donations. He wants you to know that your support meant a lot on a personal level as well. He's enjoying hearing the birdsong around our valley including the moreporks at night, as well as conversations and of course his beloved music. (Although, to be fair , he opted for safety-first earplugs rather than the hearing aids when we attended the Pixies epic concert in Auckland not long before the lockdown!). Thanks again from Pk / Amritadaka and Andrea / Ujjalamati (who notices that she is now the one saying "What was that?" " Pardon"? "Say again", ah well!)
many thanks, we really appreciate your support!
Thanks, my friend!
Thankyou so much!
