Seeking help for a Far North mother for her unfunded cancer treatment - immunotherapy (Atezolizumab) and chemotherapy (Nab-paclitaxel).
Kerikeri, Northland
Some of you may know that Rachel (pictured here with her gorgeous nephew Kingston) was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in August 2022. She has been battling this disease quietly and courageously for over a year now which has included 6 months of chemotherapy followed by surgery and radiation. During this time she has continued to work at her local school in the Far North which she loves, as well as keep up with her two teenagers.
We're now in the next stage of Rachel's cancer journey and that requires the expensive drugs. Immunotherapy (Atezolizumab) and chemotherapy (Nab-paclitaxel) that is not funded and so we need your help!
And these are expensive. We are looking at around $120,000 for the next 4-6 months of treatment alone. She has started treatment this week (16 August 2023) and the journey continues.
Any help you can give my wonderful sister would be greatly appreciated!
Rachel is my sister.

It is with heavy heart that I let you all know that Rachel passed away on Wednesday night. Safe at home with her loving husband Aaron watching over her.
